On the banks of the river “Vézère”, also called rightly the “prehistory Valley”, we propose to stop for a while in this beautiful little town. It is a few kilometers from Lascaux Caves, that Saint-Amand-de-Coly is nestled, in a wooded valley.
You may like to discover its abbey from the 12th century, considered as the most beautiful fortified church of Périgord. The whole village that surrounds this magnificent building is made of houses topped with slate roofs, and harmoniously built of ocher and gray stone called “Sarladaise”.
