A few kilometers from Saint Amand de Coly, it is now in Saint Léon sur Vézère that we suggest a litlle stop over. Here is the authenticity of charming medieval villages of Black Perigord par excellence.
This is an ancient port lying in a meander of the Vézère. Three Castles seem to protect this quiet little town. The Manor of La Salle, at the entrance of the village, the castle of Clérans above the river, and the Castle Chabans. The fortified buildings and civil constructions are harmoniously built of Sarladaise stones. It is pleasant to stroll along the narrow streets to discover this magnificent patrimony, lulled by the sweetness of the river.
